Life as of late
Life has been pretty busy these two weekends, with two graduate school interview invites on consecutive weekends. Traveling has taken a toll on my body and mood. I am fine, however. Thank you for your concern. :)

I've become so addicted to this song, for some odd reason.

Recruitment Weekend - Overall thoughts
I went into the weekend with an open mind, and armed to defend myself scientifically. Instead, I left pleasantly surprised and faced with a tough decision to make. However, I will have a better idea when I go to my next interview next week.

Recruitment Weekend Day 1
- Woke up at 4:00am to catch flight
- Was wheeled around in my spiffy new wheel chair
- Do not like wheelchair; will bring crutches and wheelchair next weekend. Felt like Wheelchair alone was such a burden. Ugh! For one moment, I will channel fencing dad and say, "Ugh! Stupid ATR!"
- Slept most of the way to Baltimore, and then talked to a Filipina who had 6 children, one who was a doctor in Baltimore at John Hopkins
- Listen to New Yawkers and Bostonians talk. Reveled in the accents.
- Talked to lady from Nagasett (sp?), who told me the Providence Airport, or the Green Airport, is actually in Warwick.
- Wheeled to recruitment group and was the awkward turtle in MANY ways.
- Drove up to Worcester.
- Got room, ate and chatted with our Graduate Mentors. Exhibited my awkward turtle ways again by trying to talk science...
- Had the Chair of the Admissions Committee come by.
- Wow, my interviewers did not impress the Chair of Admissions committee, because he did not know any of them. Eh. However, my roommate has an interview with a Nobel Laureate. No, thats awesome for her.
- Teased the rest of the group members as they took the stairs.
- Chatted with roommate.

"You have a pretty smile. Use it." Interview 1 - UMass
When I was told this initially, I was a little offended. I was frustrated and wanted someone to tell me the ways of performing under pressure. Instead I got a compliment, and I don't take offhand compliments well because I'm always suspicious of insidious intentions.

Now, I will take this piece of advice as I head for my first graduate school interview.
