Day 6 PS - First Entry
Yet another blog, another story, another spot on the web for another regular Jane's paltry accounts of their humdrum life.

So what, I play with swords.
Its funny how life works. Things happen and its up to us to judge on its worth.

As if I've rediscovered religion.

Prior to the December NAC, I was worn out mentally and on the verge of quitting fencing. A lot of factors contributed to this fatigue, like the economy, my age, the responsibilities I had to juggle and the emotional attachments. My decision was to get through the year and then fade away from fencing quietly as I went on with my life.

The competition woke up the dormant fencer in me, and I started enjoying things again. I started to understand why I liked this sport so much again. I surprised myself, and had no idea that I was capable of doing what I was just doing.

And then my Achilles' Tendon snapped. It was agonizing and I was petrified.

My life of roaming around freely ended. A lot of what I've taken advantage of have been stolen from me. A lot of the things I enjoyed doing have been put on hold. Of course I didn't want this to happen.

But it did.

So, for the next 3 months, I'll be in a cast. The next three months, I will be relying on everyone to get around. That last thought, I hate to bear the thought. For a young adult, at the time where they should be getting around on their own, to recidivate back to childish behavior is annoying.

However, this is a challenge. A challenge for me who thought was capable and independent and getting back to normal. Because after all, we are the ones who decide what its worth at the end.
